Durante o mês de maio, em uma viagem com o objetivo de conhecer mais sobre a cultura afro-americana e divulgar meu trabalho de pesquisa em cultura negra, foi possível com o apoio de diferentes instituições viabilizar duas exibições nos Estados Unidos. Uma delas foi na Galera Raw Space, no famoso bairro do Harlem, em Nova Iorque, este evento foi organizado pela ONG Lundu, pelo Afrolatin@ Proyect, Arturo Schomburh Democratic Club e AfroInca Produções. Gostaria de agradecer a todos pelo apoio para que o evento se realizasse. Apresentar o documentário que dirigi com Danielle Almeida, que trata-se de um um primeiro registro em câmera não-profissional, e tê-lo que discutir em inglês com um público conhecer da realidade latino-americana, foi um grande desafio. O público se interessou e o momento de troca foi muito importante.
Exhibition of "Nosotros, afroperuanos" in New York
During the month of May, on a trip in order to learn more about african-american culture and share my research work in black culture, was made possible with the support of different institutions in the United States organize 2 screenings of the documentary We, Afro-Peruvians. One was in Raw Space Gallery, in the famous district of Harlem, in New York, this event was organized by the NGO Lundu, Afrolatin@ Proyect, Arturo Schomburh Democratic Club and AfroInca Productions. I would like to thank everyone for their support for the event to take place. Presenting the documentary that I directed with Danielle Almeida, who comes up from a first record in a non-professional camera, and have to discuss it in English with a public that knows about the Latin American reality, was a big challenge. The public got interested and was great time to exchange.
