"Nosotros, afroperuanos" premiere in São Paulo

O documentário "Nosotros, afroperuanos", dirigido por Gabriela Watson e Danielle Almeida, após ter sido exibido no Rio de Janeiro e em Lima, foi exibido em Osorno no Chile e em São Paulo, este último, no mês de março, no Memorial da América Latina. Em parceria com a ong INTI Wasi, e com o apoio institucional do Consulado do Peru em São Paulo, organizamos uma noite especial que além da exibição do documentário contou com um debate sobre culturas afrolatinas com as realizadoras e o Prof. Dr. Julio Moracen da UNIFESP e encerramento com apresentação musical de Danielle Almeida e dança afro-peruana com Carmen Watson. Além disso, foram oferecidos petiscos da culinária típica do Peru. Cerca de 150 pessoas lotaram a biblioteca Victor Cívita, no Memorial, fizeram diversas perguntas relacionadas ao documentário, à realidade dos afro-peruanos, sobre suas relações com a realidades das populações negras na América Latina e o público foi ao delírio com a apresentação de Danielle Almeida e de dança afro de Carmen Watson, que já foi integrante do corpo de baile da prestigiada Victoria Santa Cruz, ao encerrar sua participação Carmen foi aplaudida de pé pelo público que estava emocionado.

The documentary "Nosotros, afroperuanos", directed by Gabriela Watson and Danielle Almeida, having been screened in Rio de Janeiro and Lima, was exhibited in Osorno in Chile and Sao Paulo, the latter in the month of March in the Memorial of Latin America. In partnership with the NGO INTI Wasi, and the institutional support of the Consulate of Peru in São Paulo, organized a special evening that besides the documentary featured a discussion with the filmmakers and Prof. PhD Julio Moracen - from UNIFESP, about afrolatina culture with a musical performance by Danielle Almeida and with African-Peruvian dance by Carmen Watson. In addition, were offered snacks of the typical cuisine of Peru. About 150 people packed the library Civita at the Memorial, they made several questions related to the documentary, the reality of african-Peruvians, about their relationships with the realities of black populations in Latin America. The audience enjoyed the presentation of Danielle Almeida and the Afro-Peruvian dance of Carmen Watson, who was a member of the prestigious Dance Company of Victoria Santa Cruz, at the end Carmen was ovationed by the audience that was thrilled.
